No use asking any Alberta farmers to make the trek given the UCP received Royal assent for Bill 1 in June. Every farmer "treking" to Ottawa on Alberta highways could be liable for up to a $25,000 fine and/or 6 months in jail. According to the act: "(3) No person shall, without lawful right, justification or excuse, wilfully obstruct, interrupt or interfere with the construction, maintenance, use or operation of any essential infrastructure in a manner that renders the essential infrastructure dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective."
According to the Act essential infrastructure includes: "(iii) a provincial highway, transportation facility,
transportation system or urban rail transit system as defined in the Highways Development and
Protection Act; and (vii) a highway as defined in the Traffic Safety Act."
So a farm protest convoy that slows traffic could be in violation of this act and "4 A peace officer may arrest, without warrant, any person the peace officer finds contravening section 2(1), (2) or (3)."
But for those willing to risk the fine, be aware that: "(3) Each day that a contravention continues constitutes a separate offence

I think it is worth it. Truly we can’t have this no time for it attitude, this is a serious problem this groping pm.
