The U.S. with its vaunted medical system, is becoming a poster child for How Not To Handle A Pandemic. The Orange guy is in panic mode. He actually is recommending wearing a mask after months of denial. All the gains from a lockdown are being lost and there will be a new bottom for the economy, because of a premature re-opening. We will pay the price for a failed policy.

Vaunted medical system??? A system where just a covid 19 test can cost anywhere from nothing to US$6400.00! Here's documentation: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/29/upshot/coronavirus-tests-unpredictable-prices.html?campaign_id=2&emc=edit_th_20200630&ins tance_id=19864&nl=todaysheadlines®i_id=50975083 &segment_id=32200&user_id=7a12d123dfb1d02ee141dbfe a005288b https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/29/upshot/coronavirus-tests-unpredictable-prices.html?campaign_id=2&emc=edit_th_20200630&ins tance_id=19864&nl=todaysheadlines®i_id=50975083 &segment_id=32200&user_id=7a12d123dfb1d02ee141dbfe a005288b
Maybe western Canadians don't have as much to complain about as we think we do, and maybe those pushing for joining the US should be sharing the negatives, like US health care costs compared to Canada.

Maybe you two should just make posts you can both like and respond to. Disappear into your own echo chambers.
Tam and Fauci both said masks don't work for 2 months but then they saw the fear factor they create and then they were ok.
Either way they don't work. A virus is about a micron in size and masks have 3 micron mesh. Doctors wear them to prevent bacterial infections not viral ones.
Trump had a 30c a day cure for this virus.
Too bad the TDS is still spreading.

Do the stats say how many cases are due to the burn, loot and murder rallies? The US is likely doing a lot of testing these days to still be finding as many cases as they are. The numbers are also suspect as this whole thing is so politically driven. Some think there cause is served by high numbers, others low numbers. Numbers will be more credible later in November. Still there has not been overall much loss in person years of life so having a depression over it by not reopening is not an option. Things around here are returning to normal with a few, some wise, others not so much, precautions and it is likely that 99% of the US is the same. Things could have been handled better in the US in hindsight, but overall Trump's team likely did as good a job as could be expected. We visited Vegas in early Feb. and had to use the US healthcare system as my wife, who is type 1 diabetic, forgot her insulin. We have heard the horror stories about the US healthcare system and was imagining very high costs. Was not the case as there was a number of options available and a replacement supply could be obtained for a reasonable cost. Want to see the border reopen soon, as would like to travel down there more. Hopefully we will be a state soon.

Alberta Health bought 250 rapid testing machines and 100,000 test kits for $9.5 million in April so that is $95.00 per test and includes the testing machines needed.
I both cases I assume this does not include cost of the nurse to take the test.
But you are missing my point. How can you justify a health care system that charges one person US$199 and the next person's insurance US$6400 for the same Covid test?
