How are these BLM rallies allowed.

Pandemic rules in Canada say you should stay 6 feet apart....doesnt look like that is happening with these rallies...

Will there be spike in cases?

And why is it that smaller communities can't have gatherings to celebrate a high school grad.

My oldest can't use the computer lab at Polytechnic with a class of 10 but there can be rallies with thousands...

    Something isn't right here.

I take it... you guys also find this all a bit odd.

Cant have coffee with guys that have been isolating in a tractor or sprayer cab/(jailcell) for a month but a rally with people from all over is OK...

Because a “very stable genius” once said Covid is a hoax? LOL

How come social distancing wasn’t brought up as an issue when the anti lockdown protesters were protesting? It’s the agriville double standard!

So several posters have stated the lockdown is overkill because Covid is not a big problem but on the other hand the Protests should be criticized because they are breaking social distancing rules? Huh.

In the US many states And citizens and want to go back to normal. Normal includes peaceful protest. It’s in the US constitution.

The 4 cops who killed an unarmed man weren’t practising social distancing!

In Canada many provinces are in various stages of allowing larger groups to assemble, opening businesses, allowing restaurants to open. We will know in a week or 2 whether large protests and opening up results in increased cases.

And then its too late....look at the doctor in New Brunswick that needed a trip to Quebec to get laid and the hundreds he came in contact with after...

one case in a rally of a thousand could be leading to an explosion of cases...

So the experts sort of had it under control....what control is there with these rallies...

AND why not a virtual rally like high school grads are expecting to accept?????

Whether you can have a rally or not depends on the political cause you are supporting. Some causes are worth the risk of a virus outbreak, don't you know? At least the ones approved by those with the political power to approve them.

As for businesses that are facing bankruptcy as a result of the closures, well these are just expendable capitalists anyway. They don't deserve anyone's sympathy apparently.

So if you are on the correct side of the Hegelian dialectic, you can hold all the rallies you want. The risk to public health has been deemed worth it. But if you are a businessman who exceeds the occupancy limits set by the state for your restaurant, it's thousands of dollars in fines for you.

We are well and truly far down the slope to Rome 476 A.D.

I was at a well attended protest yesterday and every protester including the police were wearing masks.

I went shopping before and after and hardly anybody was wearing a mask. First time shopping in many weeks.

The majority of transmission will still be occurring away from protests because the majority of contacts are still within community settings because there is only a relatively small number of protesters.

We should be concerned about outdoor protests and Covid transmission. If it becomes a issue it will get shut down and people will stay away.
