Sometimes you wonder if it's worth feeding an ungrateful world.

mallee . . . Globalization is out . . . Protectionism and autocratic power is in. Trump has fuelled this globally.

To me, global trade is going backwards fast. The U.S. wants to remain dominate economically and militarily, but struggling to do so. There is a power change globally whether anyone likes it or not. It is unstoppable (IMO). Tariffs are archaic IMO, with little upside. I’m a believer of ‘what comes around, goes around’ and tariffs are just one big circle.

But now we are all in this mess. Central banks are fanatically printing money with little economic response. Consumers are not spending, they are now saving and paying down debt. There is little benefit than to balloon the artificial stock market until it gets wiped out once again. The business cycle is long over, the reset button is now being set. This pain has just begun. There is no V-shaped recovery ahead as advertised. The recovery may look more like the shape of a hockey stick . . . It will take time and a changing of the guard. There is a major makeover ahead for the S and P index.

The good news is the ag sector is not feeling this downdraft as much as other industries. There are bright spots ahead for western Cdn growers. But some industries may collapse.

If a change occurred at Whitehouse in Nov would dems do a about face on all trade policies?

              Would it make any difference?

                I suspect not.
Unless you want to play by China's rules.
And the economy has bigger issues than who is president.

I agree.China seems to be a common factor in trade disputes not any certain country or leader.

The pundits I follow indicate that it won't matter who is in the Whitehouse. The only thing that might change is how they communicate.
