I find a liter in spring does a good job. I think it's hard to kill in fall after its headed out and the spray can't reach the weak foliage because of the mature fuzzy heads. What about Olympus?

      Glyphosate.

Native to North America. Need to learn to live with it.

      I think SK3 gave Olympus a try

It can be a problem in alkaline soil.
Crappy to feed to livestock, lumpjaw risk.

The magical implement caller the " cultivator " can also kill foxtail, with very nice results.

Olympus works excellent with roundup when seeding wheat. How about horsetail

Best thing to do is treat the soil with gypsum about 400# an acre and it will disappear

Fall spray fall spray fall spray ......cheapest and best control you will ever get. 1.5 litres in spring will hold ot back for a bit.
