Rain Rain Go Away. Just like last fall.

Well, it was a great run. All dry and overwintered not bad.

It started raining early this morning and now it is getting stronger.

We are down to last 1000 acres and consider what we have done so far as a lucky break.

Plan b will start next week if the rain event is heavy enough.

Frost will be out now after the rain and fields will get real interesting.

Spun yesterday down to a foot and then you push on.

Zero farmers seeding on North side of Valley.

Down south most of us are hoping for rain, pretty dry almost no snow all winter and fire bans are on.
Getting a sprinkle right now but forecast is calling for 1 mill.

We're just getting a few drops here. Hope that's it. It's so fricken wet still from last fall. There's very little seeding or anything going in this area. A couple of people have lost their minds and are dragging through frost boils, getting stuck, ruts all over. Seeding over wet ground is a sponge that soaks up money.

So far 2/10 and that would be enough.

Yes I understand some are dry and need a good rain.

Yes I understand we had a great run.

Yes any rain is good in the correct amounts.

Yes Trudeau is a total moron.

It actually rained pretty good, I didn’t have the gage out but puddles are starting to grow, this’ll get the grass growing.

Started spring thrash wheat yesterday, tested 14% moisture finally. Stuff looks good. Stopped by shower last evening. Will go and look for parts of field that are dry enough to not stick combine this aft. Have not seen anyone else go yet. Crop insurance man came quick to look at wildlife damage when called from combine cab.

Some ruts from last fall were being worked out(if there wasn't standing water), prior to last Thursday. Then the frost came out, and over night there was water standing in the yard and out in the fields, where the day before nothing. Roads wet, soft and tons of frost boils. Fields since Friday are now mush, can't even heavy harrow now as you make more ruts than you smooth out(like Braveheart mentioned), before Thursday fields harrowed nicely.
Probably ten days till seeding here, unless you have to be first and like going around extra small spots of standing water. Not looking for any rain,,, maybe midway through planting.
