I used to listen to Rex on Sunday CBC radio, cross country checkup(?). He did the show for 21 years. This is a person who has learned about Canada intimately from coast to coast.

Other than us needing kerosene to dry our grain, it’s a good piece. As most of what he writes is.

"As said, we are providentially supplied with massive natural resources. Yet, we have hamstrung the most fundamental of our industries, put it under the most specious of restraints, collapsed a central sector, one absolutely vital to a modern economy. The energy industry has been made a pariah, and mining next to energy, absent both of which the world cannot function."

So Canadian politicians are responsible for the reduced demand and slowing economy in China that caused oil prices to fall in 2014 when Harper was in power? Did Rex think $100 USD per barrel was going to last forever!

And Canadian politicians are responsible for the USA and the massive investment in fracking technology that increased US oil and gas production to increase significantly?

And Canadian politicians are responsible for the Saudi Russian price war and the covid pandemic that has driven demand down!

Rex doesn't have f..king clue. Just more partisan political rhetoric that ignores the underlying fundamental change in the supply and demand for oil.

I wonder if that is still Saudi Oil being shipped over to Eastern Canada. How much fuel gets burn’t bringing that over. If it’s still happening isn’t that hyprocisy.
