we will cure the virus and restart the economy, but likely we wont find any treatment for TDS. Its hopeless. All we can hope to do is contain that terrible affliction.

Globalization is the reason why any area has a high concentration of cases. And since the US was sold down the road 25 yrs ago, of course the exported virus ran rampant in that country.

And air pollution is becoming a known contributor to the disease. That's why you are seeing outbreaks in main urban centers and not Kansas. Yeah stuffing 8m people into a single city is never a good idea.

The far right is creating its own derangement syndrome by attacking Dr. Fauci on social media . Are you with them or do you believe one of the most eminent experts in the world?

Well let me see - did he go to the same school as Dr. Michael Mann? Or are his credentials as solid as those of Al Gore?

I am with them and I attack that snivelling weasel full on. Why don't you look up his chummy dealings with the WHO? Yeah the WHO whos current leader said human to human transmission impossible and warned against travel bans right until march and who is accused it crimes against humanity from his home country.

I knew faucci was a weasel when Trump was the one who had to find a treatment and he never even mentioned it.

Anything wrong with this picture? In a video of this signing the 2 trillion dollar aid package.....Trump hands out pens to those standing behind him. No precautions or social distancing....I guess they're immortal!

Death toll in the USA is over 2000 with 121,000 infected, while in Canada the death toll is 63 with 5567 infected. Go ahead and do your 10x the population in USA math and see what number you come up with.

800,000 USA doctors have sent a signed letter to Trump stating social distance must be maintain to save lives. They have to do it because the Orange Man is yapping about people going to work after Easter.

In New York 1 person died every 17 minutes on Friday.

Yes Trump is doing a great job, was to busy taking his daily instructions from Fox News the first two weeks of March.

Thanks for the deaths stats, where should we categorize it? I would say NY has more problems than some new flu.

Reports on the ground say NYC hospitals are empty and so are testing stations and there is a big honking medical ship sitting in the harbour now.

Trump having high support numbers is hardly proof that he’s great. It’s proof many Americans are idiots.

                          Further proof to that:

They believed his “it’s a hoax” crap.

They believe this is some ploy to affect American politics. All the world is a stage and globally we’re acting it out just to try and make Trump look bad.

They believe it’s been in America for months and many of them had it in January so it won’t be a big issue.

They believe pretty much any conspiracy theory except the cold hard facts facing them right now - their numbers are flying through the roof.

I’ve had American friends tell me the “we have ten times your population” line. I’m still unsure whether they’re in denial or just trying to stay strong. Here’s a fairly consistent parallel, except for the fact that urban centres in Alberta are four times the size as the ones in Louisiana. What’s the Trump logic behind this one?

You obviously don't know much about the US if you think a bigger population is the main difference between the two countries.

Go load a satellite image of the US and Canada at night and you will get your answer.

I don’t recall discussing the differences between the two countries. I was relaying information based on similar population sizes as they usually tout out “we have ten times the people” for the fact they have higher numbers.

If instead you’re going to switch it up and blame the density of the population - another common tactic - then take a look at other high density areas. The east coast of Australia, not bad numbers there. Or we could go straight to Europe. Twice the population, almost exactly the same population density, how are their numbers comparing even though they’re weeks ahead.

The fact is, America’s population size and the density of its urbanized areas are feeble excuses for what’s happening there. It does not support or explain the numbers. They couldn't get people to leave Florida for spring break! Americans have not been taking this seriously and that can pretty much be laid directly at Trumps feet for making it seem like it does not need to be taken seriously. It’s a hoax, it’s a political ploy, it’s so minimal it’ll be over with by Easter.

You conveniently listed some stats for New York health. Americans as a whole are not known for being healthy. What do you think a respiratory virus like Covid is going to do to a population that already loses 7,000 people a year to chronic respiratory issues? And it looks like that’s one of the best States for that mortality figure.

Let me help you out. The reason is not population nor density, its the interconnectivedness of that economy with the outside world and internally. Foreign tourist and business trips are literally in the hundreds of millions. States are all connected by 4 lane high ways, there are dozens of interstate flights every day to some of the most remote locations. That is why something like this virus spreads faster in a place like that. Canada has no equivalent.
