The Supreme Court has 3 Quebec, 3 Ontario, 3 Rest of Canada judges which is a flaw in our system.
The judges representing Quebec might not even want a precedent set that a federal government can impose industry killing laws on provinces.

It should be a unanimous decision against the carbon tax for the Supreme Court but time will tell.

My prediction : The supreme court will rule against the carbon tax, if they believe in the constitution. This ruling will be the biggest upheaval this country has ever seen. The anarchy called Kanada will have to re-evaluate its priorities - the first of which is to give King T the right to run rough-shod over Western Canada. Do you think King T actually believes all the climate change hog-wash? Or are climate change lunatics are just wind in his sails?

There are 7 dissenting judges vs 8 for it, its no slam dunk.

Harper tried to create a national securities regulator during his term and it was deemed an intrusion on the provinces and lost. The carbon tax is no different.

Now corrupt liberal judges, that's another story entirely.

          ChuckChuck,

How many reductions in GHG does 'carbon' taxing our grain drying propane and Natural Gas heating fuel provide?

Reducing GHG emissions on our farm is a way of life... that the Carbon tax has had no practical impact on GHG emissions ... other than reducing our taxable income even further. Growing pulse crops and soybeans that fix N as well as P fixing bacteria to convert rock P into available P205 are sustainable GHG mitigation practices. Canada produces 1.6% of Global Carbon emissions... this is not about 'saving the planet'...it simply further hurts the Canadian economy... who will pay more for our grain... because we have a Carbon tax that fails to reduce GHG emissions?

There is a strong case to exempt farmers from most carbon taxes. But doing nothing to reduce carbon emissions is not an option.

When a large number of people think is okay to idle their gas guzzling SUVs and pickup trucks in a Tim Hortons drive through for 5-10 minutes just to get a $2 cup of coffee because they are too lazy to get out of their vehicle or make their own coffee or pack a lunch then you know something is wrong.

Ok chuck. How much has the carbon tax reduced emissions in Saskatchewan so far? Let’s hear it. Out with it. And if we don’t lower our 1.6 per cent of worldwide emissions in our vast and cold country, what will the result be? Untenable warmth, or?

What about panamax ships idling in the bay filled with Chinese plastic and inferior quality junk destined for our land fill.

You are a special kind of hypocrite. Calling out some mom who grabs a coffee vs megatons of disposable globalized crap landing on our shores every day.

It's impossible to prove/calculate. Only "believers" know it is totally accurate to hundreths of a percent C02.
C02 is self measured/ assessed by each country. No one else checks, so let's just say, yay we met the targets, without any TAX. F*ck the globe. We need heat/warmth, COLD or COLDER as the zealots want is DEATH! C02 is NOT POLLUTION azzholes!

Oh? Now it’s most carbon taxes? I thought your buddy Ralph said farmers would pay none? You are a special breed that’s for sure.

Just heard an interview with Chrystia Freeland about carbon tax, I'd like have few rum with her and hear what she really thinks.

Uneven application of a federal tax is absolutely unconstitutional. That's like giving the west a 10% gst and the maritimes a 1% gst. Can't stand.

Boy would I love to see skippy stammering in the house when this gets killed. And his stupid UN seat too.
