    "Event of Delay"

Looks like the grain cos just dodged all the fancy wording they were required to add to our contracts back in 2014 after the last rail strike. Unless im understanding this wrong those penalties we would of collected are now off the table. Surprise!

Until there is a room full of GrainCo Reps and REAL farm representatives mediated by a non-biased third party negotiating an Industry standard grain contract......don't expect a fair contract when there is only input from one party.

How much input to the terms and conditions did you have in the contracts you sign?

Grain Merchant:"You want to deliver here? Perfect... Sign Here, Here, and initial here."

      Farmer:"Whats all this fine print?"

Grain Merchant in his head:"haha, it leaves our ass covered, and yours potentially a gaping wound depending on how we feel at time of delivery"

Grain Merchant out loud:"Not much, just your old standard delivery contract"

That's what is nice about cattle auctions. Cattle go to one place and buyers compete to buy.

Haha - that's just for feeder cattle with "farmers" (feedlot owners) doing the competing. There is less competition to buy fat cattle than there are buyers for grain/canola etc. All in secret with the captive supply arrangements and no mandatory public price reporting.

I think I saw that happen a few times when prices were rocketing.

Most of the time it just looks like a bunch of wore out actors playing the same scene over and over.
