'This is effectively adding another major pipeline'

As expected the ingenuity of the patch is way beyond our idiotic govt.

"This is effectively adding another major pipeline," said Ian Gillies, the managing director of institutional research at GMP FirstEnergy, during a recent presentation.
In total, pipeline companies could add up to 575,000 barrels per day of capacity by the end of 2022, according to Gillies.

Getting oil off rail would be one step and this would help make that happen.

Not being sarcastic how does shipping more oil into an already depressed market make any sense? And aren’t companies pulling out because it doesn’t pay to produce at these levels or are they just a bunch of sucks who got used to gravy and won’t eat rawhide now? Lol
Somebody please spell out how Any Of rhe oil whining makes any sense.

If this was grain why would anyone produce more at a loss?

So the downtroden oil COs finaly figured out by upping operating pressure they can move more oil,but with that comes a bigger risk of line falure and larger spills. I think they figure they have all the consessions they can get from the gov so now its time to put there own money on the table.

Its 3 yrs away with increasing demand for heavies with Venezuela out of the market now. Probably some strategy to buyout some American pipeline or side deal with Trump to get tide water access that way because Canada is dead.

When keystone shut down a few weeks ago, the heavy supply was interrupted for a few days. The differential widened during those days so clearly the market is expecting a reliable supply of that crude type.

Was going to add a picture of a jar of bakken crude I have ,but can't find it. It's dambed near pure gasoline, can't make diesel out of it. Pretty sure they used to run model T's on it straight out of the ground. It smells like gasoline.
