You can thank Doug Ford for losing the election in Ontario.

There is a lot of voters remorse with Ford.

And Scheer was stupid enough to run on the platform of $50 billion in cuts. He played right into Trudeau's plan for Ontario.

Market access is a portion of the decline. Oil sands oil is lower quality and cannot be refined everywhere. We were too dependent on the US market and refineries.

The US doesn't need our oil as much now and can cut the price paid. But the underlying fall in prices is because of world supply and demand.

Alberta needs to diversify their economy, other wise it is like a one industry town.

We have seen this boom and bust scenario before. High priced oil attracted lots of extra production . especially in the US.

You cant blame the downturn in oil and gas and the resource sector on politicians. Prices for commodities are set in the world market. The down turn started while Harper was still in power.

Climate change and environmental issues are too important to be dismissed.

Yep Trudeau is not great and we deserve better leadership.

But instead of wishing for the Liberals to fail, start working to find a away to prosper in the new reality. There are many opportunities for those who are willing to work hard and think carefully.
Oh please tell me how to prosper in this new reality. I’m all ears.

So the answer for you Chuck is to just keep spending more money! Kill all the industry that creates money so just take more from the people.
Socialism great Chucky until you run out of other people’s money!

The price of oil is still pretty high looking at it long term. The pipelines going to the east and west coast are not US markets which is needed. They are three pipelines behind in this area. Look at the capital that left western Canada to go pump oil in the US. Look at all the oil producers stocks. An unbelievable amount of dollars have been pulled out of this country. If the bust here is because price, then the boom in the states isn’t because of the price?

The eastern fishery gutted by federal policy? How so?

Didn't John Crosbie PC minister of the Fisheries shut down the inshore fishery based on over fishing and declining cod stocks? Over fishing and other factors drove the fishery into decline not the federal government.

There is more to Canada than the oil and gas sector. If you can't figure out what to do, let the next generation takeover because you have run out of ideas.

Every time the oil boom busts its always somebody else's fault. It is a cyclical commodity at best.
Investors love to invest when the returns are good only to take their money and run. Hardly an industry to build a sustainable economy on.

You have no freaking clue what you are talking about. I am in Texas right now looking at an energy boom while Canada sits this one out. This is 100% politics.
