    Who is Harvesting What

It’s the end of August and we are on a farm forum and not a boo about combining. What’s going on?

We have been going on peas whenever we can
Peas , some lentils and early barley coming off a bit at a time here in this area.
The farther north and west you go the farther combining is away from starting .
Simply a function of summer rain

Got going again yesterday, almost had a full day .

Peas seeded with Horsch planter at 225,000 seeds /ac . Worked out to 1.6 bus/ac .
Very happy with stand ability, yield and no disease .
Peas seeded with our drill at 3 bus /ac had disease in all low areas and went flat.
Planter outyielding the drill by about 5 bus/ac so far.
About an extra bus /ac per inch of rain . Simply a healthier plant .

Good morning. Where we live ( NW of Maple Creek,SK ) Rye is don , peas are done , and started on triticale yesterday afternoon. Rain in may and June would have gave us a bin buster , but we will have to take an average crop instead. It always can be worse, and I am glad I didn't spend $300/ acre to get $150 back like some in the area do. Lots of thistle and kochia between the rows this year.

Been nothing done around here since last Friday. Little showers every day - only totalled 3/4" but enough to hold things back.

Nice looking peas. 1.6 bushels per acre of seed very interesting. Our peas looked really good early on, we're 4 feet tall lots of pods. Rain and wind flattened them, now they are a leaf disease covered mat. Finally in the last few days they are starting to ripe, hope to spray them by the weekend. What variety furrow?

                    Small amount of peas off
One canola field swathed nothing else ready
One field of barley has been swathed for 8 days, will need a forage harvester
Virtually nothing done here rains every day

Harvest? What harvest? Over two inches of rain since last Thursday night, cloudy and cold with showers ever day since. Humidity is 100 per cent until noon, then it drops to 93 per cent. Still trying to harvest hay, but impossible. A neighbor swathed barley before the first rain. There it sits, soaking wet.

There is a reason mother Deere brings their prototypes to our area to try them out in tough conditions.

Sun came out for about an hour yesterday afternoon. Then it rained hard again.

What an odd place to farm!

                          Caraway and Barley are off.
Annual ryegrass has been down and was almost ready before the last 7 days of on and off rain. Most likely ruined now with no long enough window for it to come off in sight.
Canola will begin to be swathed in the next few days.

Holy F, what planet are you guys farming on. Here like 2% of lentils off, chicks green, no wheat, no canola swathed. There wont be full on harvest here for 2-3 weeks yet.

If Austrada doesn't like glyphosate wonder if he doesn't mind the entire country get done in reglone.

Barley done, started on oats, canola that was to be swathed is swathed. Soybeans finally starting to yellow a bit. Over 2 inches of rain in the past week has slowed harvest down. A little over 25% done.
