I only put fungicide on lentils this year because they are on time. Not taking a chance delaying any maturity. Frost is a concern but the first stages of canola is well into bloom so frost wont get it all. Better than what I was facing without that rain.

A month ago we were asking for rain here and now I’d like it to hit “pause” so some hay could get made. Tuesday we went and cut 20 acres just to check out the machine and make sure the new steel conditioner rolls were going to be fine. Layed out a nice windrow and did much better than the wore out rubber rolls.

Crop is still good quality and not too coarse which is a pleasant surprise and the volume is much better than last year.

Hopefully we can get it rolled up in good shape to sell as none is required here for feed this year except maybe 100 bales or so.

Mother Nature threw another hissy fit last night and dumped a half inch in fifteen minutes. The tedder is ready to roll and will definitely be required this year. It’s paid for itself several times over the past few years we’ve had it and wouldn’t be able to make dry hay without it especially on challenging years such as this.

        Good luck everyone 🍀

Wowzer, that is a mighty fine lay of hay. Good Luck, send rain south. 🚀

I’m trying to send it anywhere but it’s insisting on sticking around. At an inch since last night and they’re calling for another one before tomorrow. My buddy 25 miles east was baling dry hay the other day since they haven’t had rain in over a week whereas we’ve only had one day without rain in the last ten. Next week will hopefully be better😉

Looks intense on radar south of cut knife. Some bumper crops in that area, hope the white stuff stays away there.

There's alot of intense weather lately. If all the ingredients for storms are present...look out! Some nasty ones slipped past us. We were in the July 1st storm's path but had no crop or building damage.

But you have to wonder when its your turn.

I want a dividend rebate on my Co-op hail insurance.....so I hope its a quiet year for claims.....and no claims in the Slum of the Ghetto.... becsuse the crop is worth more than the hail insurance I bought.
