This makes me puke a little in my mouth for saying it, but we'd be better off with a liberal majority than a minority, with a minority the liberals will be pulled left of the NDP(Wich they may all ready be), and the greens with Elizabeth May will be pulling the strings. If that happens say goodbye to modern ag as we know it. At least with a majority we have a chance of being ignored.Originally posted by AlbertaFarmer5 View PostWe are also screwed under a majority CPC, it will just take a little longer. Only way they get a majority is by bowing down to the leftists in the ROC at the expense of western Canada as usual.

I am sure at the Premiers meeting Kenny stuck a finger in Legaults face and told him in no certain terms AB aint fing around. Quebec cant act like a bunch of Ffaces for their elite base but when the rubber hits the road, Ab aint paying for it. Kenny cant really come out guns a blazing until we see Oct 21 through, but after that, Trudeau better be spayed and neutered or its go time.Originally posted by AlbertaFarmer5 View PostWe are also screwed under a majority CPC, it will just take a little longer. Your last statement says so much. Our best hope is to be ignored...Originally posted by Wheatking View PostThis makes me puke a little in my mouth for saying it, but we'd be better off with a liberal majority than a minority, with a minority the liberals will be pulled left of the NDP(Wich they may all ready be), and the greens with Elizabeth May will be pulling the strings. Trudeau isn't going to ignore the west, we are firmly in his sights as an abused cash cow because he knows we will take it. Who else is going to pay for his communist utopia?Originally posted by AlbertaFarmer5 View PostYour last statement says so much. Our best hope is to be ignored...

That is why I said our best hope... realistically, there is no scenario under which the west can possibly expect to receive any benevolence from an eastern centric government of any description. Being ignored would be a dream come true compared.Originally posted by jazz View PostTrudeau isn't going to ignore the west, we are firmly in his sights as an abused cash cow because he knows we will take it. There’ll be nothing left to milk and abuse. A parasite keeps the host alive enough to keep living itself but this relationship here will see the host die and the parasite too. The whole economy here is dependent on the ability to produce and export commodities effectively which is becoming costlier and more difficult to do in light of increasing regulations, higher costs, falling commodity prices, and poor infrastructure to move said goods to sale point. Another 4 years of the tike and chief and separation will be a plausible avenue to venture down. This country is a ticking time bomb as much as I hate to say. The can gets kicked down the road from one government to the other. Nothing changes.Originally posted by jazz View PostTrudeau isn't going to ignore the west, we are firmly in his sights as an abused cash cow because he knows we will take it. Any sort of national pride is manufactured to create a sort of sense of national identity. Can argue the Americans are guilty of this too but every time I see a heritage moment, a Tim Horton’s ad, a shitty beer commercial etc there is some contrived effort to reign us in to that is what we are and should be. Nothing feels natural. I am as Canadian as should be for a non aboriginal but just feel my intelligence is being insulted.
