Trudeau speaks at Climate Change Plan in Toronto March 4, 2019

Interestingly, I can't find a link but it will probably come out somewhere eventually. It was broadcast live on CTV at @ 6:00 (MST) last night in Power Play's spot. A rally type event with all the usual 'bobble heads' lined up behind the speaker. Catherine McKenna spoke first although that was not broadcast - just a video shown in the bottom right hand corner. If body language says everything, it looked like she was shouting angrily at the crowd. Then Trudeau comes out all smiles and 'love', shaking hands as he made his way to the podium. I think they were broadcasting it because they were expecting a response to the resignation of Jane Philpott. He did make some passing remarks, but nothing of substance. And then he got into a full out assault. Yelling and screaming. It was horribly disturbing. No less then 3 hecklers who were ushered out by the 'stasi'. The first one right in front of the podium, carrying a sign that said "pig trial #2". Watching the 'bobble heads' in the background, some people were becoming increasingly uncomfortable. One little girl was obviously disturbed.

I have never seen anything like this in Canada. It reminds me of something you would see in some 3rd world country. Scary, scary stuff.

Let us know when she presents differently; that would be noteworthy.

Have you ever watched the boss cow come swaggering across the yard to the bale feeder? Always the same action and reaction. Except the cow is easier to listen to.

Responses to her Twitter feed are brutal.

I tuned in late and did't see the hecklers.

I thought he looked like a burnt out school teacher on Thursday PM.

His hairdresser and makeup artist mustn't be getting their time as he had that rumpled look.

He spieled it off like it was the middle of the campaign but getting no energy from the crowd.

Probable wanted the Phone a Friend option but no friends (Butts).

At the end he tried to glad hand a bit as he quickly scurried out but some were turning away not making eye contact.

Rough couple of weeks and he looked it.

Psychologists often ask how people could have continued to obediently, and blindly support some of the tyrants of history. This guy is not a tyrant, just an incompetent moron, but watching the crowd chanting and still cheering for him, genuine or otherwise, could be an excellent phenomenon to study, to learn how people can become so hopelessly brainwashed, or ideologically blind.

I watched the whole deal and it looks like the plan is to try to change the channel by going full on scarce the shit out of everyone that the climate is about to explode. Climate Barbie went full on crazy that we only have 12 years to save ourselves. My god guys don't you remember the scorching heat last summer and the devastating flooding that ravaged the nation and then the wild fires that raced across the nation?

It's the politics of fear. Simply check out twitter's #StandWithTrudeau. So much of his hardcore base believes to the very core of their being that Scheer is the Devil in flesh and blood. He's a racist, an alphanumericphobe, xenophobe, and most certainly a Fascist that needs a punch to the face! When you paint him as the devil reincarnate, and believe the NDP to be hopelessly unable to come to power, there is nothing your leader could possibly do to make you switch sides. If the alternative is 100% evil, so long as your choice is 99% evil or less, He/She/Xir/Xis/etc is considered to be near godly.

Is it much different on the other side of the spectrum though? Those that wish ill upon Notley, Trudeau, etc? The constant belittling, like Nothead, Nutley, Trudope, Sockboy, etc... Is it so hard to call them by their real name and debate the finer points of their policies/ideas?

Those that perceive voting for the exact same party at every single opportunity as a badge of honor, or some sort of indication that they are purer than anyone else. Or god forbid those that have not only an aversion, but a straight up inability to criticize their home team.

The #StandWithTrudeau feed has a number of people who believe the NDP have crawled into the bed with the CPC, and therefore they cannot stomach voting for a team they're ideologically aligned with, simply because of a supposed association with the Devil, or the fear of splitting the vote. Good god, a critical mind should know that politics is a messy sport, but when two ideologically opposed parties think that there is something rotten in Denmark, perhaps it's time to take the blinders off and take an objective look at the situation.

Looking at poll aggregators today NDP support has come up to 20%. The never vote conservative crowd will shift green or ndp. As much as we think this election is a big deal there’ll be a good who don’t vote. That is the big unknown in tight ridings.

We value a civil society in Canada, "rule of law" is indeed the very framework which keeps us civil, and all elected members are keepers of that key: the maintenance of trust in our institutions, free from political interference. On the other hand loyalty in political parties is a necessary component of "party" politics.
It has to weigh on many minds of MPs at this time as breach of trust with the at home public, indeed outside of Quebec likely more so, has to have become very thin ice. Harper was tossed for much less.

and at some point they are either part of the problem if not indeed advocating a solution
