    Canola to Eurupe

I am just reading in the Western Producer and it says that there is a big demanded in Europe for Canadian Canola but if you want to deliver to this market you need to be certified to EU standards.
You we need a Sustainability Certification and to get one you will have to give
    Chemical history of you land.
Certify that you haven't cleared more than 2.5 acres since 2008.
Certify that you use ethical labour practices.

OH crap My canola won't be able to go to that market because it is growing on newly cleared land!

Viterra has a sustainability contract that entails what you describe.

I believe it opens you to audits too.

TOO many others want to dictate how you manage your farm for too small a premium....conventionally.

    I never signed up.

Hopefully farmers won't sign any of them and send a message that we just won't do it. But, knowing farmers, they will do anything for one more penny promised even though they will lose 2.
