Where does the nonsense of America tried to kill Argy come from? The problem that they had and most other emerging markets had was they borrowed too much USD. Who signs for the debt? China is financing a lot of infrastructure their for their own benefit, not for the benefit of Argentinians as they will come to know. Was reading recently about the Chinese replacement program for the Panama canal in Nicaragua and it was not a happy story for affected people in Nicaragua. The Argy's did get a chance to right the ship with tighter fiscal and monetary policy as the article notes, but their troubles were of their own making, not the fault of the US.
