Politics aside, here is where Canada is headed. These are population pyramids for every city and province in Canada. You can compare any two places or the entire country.

In basic terms, the maritimes is Fd. Quebec, Ontario and BC are old getting older no matter how many immigrants are poured in there.

AB, SK, MB are the only youngish places in Canada.

Basically you are looking at country with 2/3rds of it population aging into retirement and dependency having to be paid for by the remining 1/3rd from youngish areas.

An aging population may tend to vote more conservative in the future, that's probably why the libs are so desperate to flood the country with newcomers, but that could take a while and the damage will have been done.

Don't have to worry about the future in Canuckistan, it does not have one except for continual decline. When women get the vote, socialism is inevitable. They do vote overwhelmingly left and get government jobs instead of having kids. This continues until government is broke. Rinse and repeat. Flame away. My solution would be smaller government reversing the above process, however, that aint gonna happen as everyone is addicted in various ways to big G. So I have stopped worrying about it.
