So does a plant based (A&W) burger meet expectations.

For benefit of those who refuse to darken the doors of that particular chain.....just how do people react to the first and second bites???

Out of curiosity the wife and I tried it. If I didn’t know it wasn’t beef going into the first bite I would not have guessed their wasn’t a cow in it. I’m not saying it was gloriously delicious but it wasn’t terrible either.

A friend tried one alongside a regular beef burger. The plant based one had a completely different sauce on it which made it taste better then the other one.

I will try it sooner or later. Question is what do they add to it to make it taste like "beef" or a hamburger? Does that make it healthier? I still say it would be better than test-tube meat.

If it increases demand for pulse crops how could that be bad?

It isn't bad, but, then what do you do about beef production....seems odd that no one adds up the production costs of '"fake"' beef....from the time the seeds are in the ground to patty between the buns....and the amount of subsidy provided by government to create it in the first place...

The whole protein cluster**** thing is a billion dollars of taxpayers money..

Besides you would have to convince the world of the benefits....35 million people isn't going to solve the pulse problem in Canada....

No, but 350 million people States-side will help too.

Sure dont see as many cattle on farms as we used to...fewer fqrms with them but more per farm now.

As much as I liked Teenburgers and the root beer, I will never darken those Chiporle-esque lying mother's door. No farmer should.

I've said exactly that to their Canadian marketing droid who phoned me and I intend to say it to anyone else who will listen. I won't miss a chance to tell the College of Ag in Saskatoon what I think about them taking money from the hypocritical lying bastards either.
