    You got it buddy!

Does any farmer do math any more or is it just spend spend put on credit and hope the insurance and Gars cover your costs if all fail. spend spend spend, your making money.

            ok, your playing with money.

Reality did any farmer crunch the numbers and add up what all the shit is going to cost farmers.

Seed tax. grow 70 wheat x 1000 = 70000 bushels with a tax of say 2 dollars a ton 3810.00 for your own seed or 3.81 an acre.

Then add in the cost of fert

120 lbs or S15 and 120 lbs of Ammonia compared to last year 8.00 an acre plus 12.00 or 20 an acre.

Freight increase with a carbon tax.

Trucking costs for chemical due to the carbon tax.

Chem increase because they have to pay for all the new companies that joined together.

            Interest rates going higher.

            Diesel through the roof.

            Parts insane.

            So profit where is it.

Please explain all you wise guys tell me how farming is going to be so profitable this year.

Interesting looks about 10% higher than fall prices. Definitely was a good fall to put as much NH3 on as possible.

I am pretty jealous of the new generation. They are definitely competitive and not afraid to spend money. If it doesnt work out as expected , at least they will have done the farming in the most comfortable fashion!
Go on facebook, 306 farming and some guys are asking how to spend/what to buy in order to pay less income tax.
It is that time of year, the fert/chem prices could bump up because of the income tax offset demand.

Ah yes, managing the farm to avoid paying income tax rather than making money, incorporation has pretty much eliminated the "save the tax buys" for alot of people. What a relief.

Yea that has changed things but I can’t believe they think it needs a 25% increase in price just in one month.

Some will think what I’m going to say would come from Wiseguy.

Buy all the fert the bank will let you, maybe go to another bank

Big year ahead, big rains coming

Top dress in June for bigger booshels

Order and pay for fungicides NOW, cuz you won’t find any next month.

Don’t forget the “snake oils”, they are must have.

Save the best for last, prices to escalate like never before to help pay for the above. Maybe even have enough left to buy a 6 pack.

why is oil at these low prices because its landlocked and the rail system cant move it efficiently while fertilizer prices are rising, doesn't fertilizer move by rail?

Seems the oil producers are like farmers, produce to the max, drive the price down in hopes you drive each other out of business. Fert Cos much smarter, set production to demand.
