    Feed Barley

    Going to grow some next year, grew Champion in 12 had an amazing crop. What are others growing?

      grew claymore , best yielder we have ever had. we had a 4" dump on it and it didn't drown out in low spots . then we got real dry and that didn't hurt it either . neighbor had austensen and it didn't seem to take the dump of rain as good . think they're both good tho

        Was thinking of growing Claymore. What kind of test weight did it have and yield?

            Grow champion here too. It’s been an excellent variety for us. Big yield potential & heavy bushel weight. Can get a little tall if growing conditions are good. Many neighbours growing Austenson. It looks very good as well. Conlon always did well here & crazy early. Plump kernels and smooth awned... less itchy.

              Good To know, thanks for sharing. Has anyone done any side-by-side trials to prove Excess water tolerance between varieties?

                Grown champion three times. Head breakage is awful if you straight combine. Terrible losses each and every year. I highly unrecomend champion. It is a champion at falling over.
