    Bank of Canada Rate Hike

    The Bank of Canada hiked rates a further 1/4% this morning (Oct 24th) to 1.75% . . . . .

In our view, this is very poor timing of an additional rate hike by our Cdn central banker. 30% of Canadians now fear bankruptcy and can ill-afford a hike in monthly payments. ProMarket Wire, Calgary

Why were the allowed to borrow to the cliff's edge? Both the lender and borrower are responsible...one for alowingbit and the other for taking the opportunity.

No one gets executed for going bankrupt....so why not live larger than life!

Should add on the investment side and cover Trudeau’s carbon tax for us

This is what CNR stated in the 3rd quarter report yesterday!

"CN Rail said revenue from moving petroleum and chemicals climbed 25 percent in the three months ended Sept. 30, while revenue from grains and fertilizers rose 15 percent."

All the Agriville armchair Canadian economists must have missed this one!

Wow, a business with a virtual monopoly had their revenue rise, sunny ways full steam ahead.

Canadian dollar rallying as a result, canola getting hammered . . . .

I sorta kinda agree with you. There is a tiny smidgen of regret for not borrowing on the best recreation items where my family would have experienced ultimate comfort and relaxation when not “working”.

What will CNs revenue be like after those industries that contributed to the growth are dead because of govt carbon tax and govt over regulation and red tape? What will they haul then hopes and dreams, solar panels and windmills?
