I suspect that without badgers we would be overrun by gophers. They can come and live here cause gophers are making a real mess of yard, hay field, runway, etc.

Gophers is part of the food source.
Not bad around here. But the moles in the light land make for a nightmare. Mole hills and badger holes. Stepping out of the grain truck in the dark,only to drop your leg in a badger hole .you could break your leg. Lucky the wet years
Seemed to drown out most of the moles.but the are on there way back.
Big tires , 4 wheel drives and watch your step. About all you can do
