And in a perfect world, wouldn't it be great if it didn't matter who the leader is? Imagine if it was all about policy and accountability, instead of the cult of personality, name recognition, and who is more photogenic.

When I chose a seed variety, do you think I know or care who the CEO of that company is, or do I care about how it performs? Why can't politics be the same.

Ill bet bernier woulda been better, he doesnt seem scared of hard issues
That's not how politics works. Try to keep up.
Bernier is a wing nut that knows what some of the buttons to push are. He's desperate to be somebody he isn't.

If scheer says he agrees with pot then he's locked into it and if it goes to shit the liberals would say see you agreed.
If he says he disagrees with it and it turns out to be this big tax grab that doesn't harm society which I think it will then he's also screwed. So the obvious proper thing to do is see how it plays out see what people think about it after it's been here for awhile and then make a decision. It's already in place which is different of it wasn't already in place to comment on.
Actually was a smart take on his part.

Ambrose looked good as interim leader but just about all of them that have no ambition of being leader or know they are out always seem to act different then when they are under the gun to do what's necessary to get elected.

Albertafarmer that is true it should be more than about one persons view for sure.

Absolutely! - that's the way it's supposed to be. You vote for the candidate who will best represent your constituency - only the constituents of Papineau, Quebec vote for Trudeau. Unfortunately the media switched the focus to the leaders decades ago in many countries and it is one of the things contributing to the poor governance we see nowadays.

"I think it was a good answer, if it looks like it's going to cause society more problems then get rid of it if not then don't. Seems like a logical answer to me. "

Canada had prohibition from 1918 to 1920, then booze was legalized.

              In 1969, Canada legalized abortion.

They "cause society problems" in some Canadians mind did the government make either of them illegal again?

Scheer's answer had nothing to with society problems of legalized pot, it was was strictly to do with holding on to votes.

I would bet the farm Sheer wasn't in favor of legalization. But his personal views may not matter.

I think it will take years to assess the affects of legalization and once again we "may" be treating symptoms of problems and not the cause.

People will do them anyway unless you have laws that mean something the way they fight drunk driving or drugs it's no wonder people still do it.

Not as dire as we are led to believe.

https://globalnews.ca/news/4564813/justin-trudeau-andrew-scheer-close-ipsos-poll/ A year away from election day and no-name Scheer is right behind celebrity Trudeau: Ipsos poll
