For this of you who think famers don't deserve an adhoc payment ....how do you like the fact the government sold the railcars to the railways for sub salvage value....

One trip to the west coast and the railways have recouped the purchase price of those farmer maintained railcars for the past 30 years...

We didn't own **** all but if they can't get better than salvage value out of them ...then sell them to the scrap yard...

Ya, I read that article too and cringed when it stated the RRs had been maintaining the fleet of Government cars...wasn't there some controversy a while back over what they were charging for maintenance and amount of actual maintenance being done. What would equate to "overcharging".

Now they get to purchase the cars for what was it... a third of their value?(I may stand corrected).
