      Farmers Seed tax’s.

Call these two government employees and give them your opinion on seed royalty collection. They are the presenters at the consultations. on behalf of the government they are responsible for enabling the new systems of royalty collection.

They want to hear from framers.

Interesting but scary that two bureaucrats from Ottawa are in charge of this “project”.

There has been too much taking from the farmer.
End point royalties will be the issue that virtually every producer will oppose.
According to the reporting of the Winnipeg meeting the farmers speaking at the meeting fell into 3 groups:
          "Opposed to paying more royalties."

"Not necessarily opposed to farmers contributing more but wary of signing a blank cheque that might benefit seed company shareholders."

"Support for more royalty collection on cereal seed. Advocates pointed to the success of canola, a crop where farmers rarely plant saved seed."

So there we have it. Spun to sound like a third (at most) of farmers oppose paying seed royalties. I wonder who the "advocates" were with that faulty logic? presumably not farmers.
