With the Crap Insurance payment deadline looming maybe we should be getting a hold of our MLAs and having a discussion. With so much crop out and likely to be feed what’s going to happen if we can’t make our payment?
If we can’t get what’s remaining they will be waiting till it’s taken off then adjusting and issuing a payment. They will sit on our money for months until there’s a settlement.

They should be looking for ways to get livestock guys short of feed some of this shit crop that works for all concerned.....

Better than selling the herd off...

          And better than combining garbage...

I don't know what it would take but it's a starting point....

I'm torn but I think I would go for the snow to go because Trudeau every time he opens his mouth he loses a vote.

Need the weather to make it into cattle feed too. Not conducive to that at the moment either. Seems to me most people in this area are comfortable with their feed supplies for now. I think next spring it will be a different story as the pastures will have been set back a month by the abuse inflicted on them this year.

Realizing the weather doesn't permit baling but if it turns there should be an effort put into the idea....from government, crop insurance and cattle producers. ..

                Maybe..????

For sure it's an idea, could work some salvage value through crop insurance that would work for all parties involved. Cheaper to move the cows to the feed than the feed to the cows just need someone to manage them and the fact that many fences have been removed over the years makes it harder too.

Couple years ago one neighbour sold a field of ripe swathed barley to another for feed. It had been down in a crappy fall like this for 6 weeks and was growing badly. I thought for sure they wouldn't eat much of it and leave one hell of a mess in the spring but I was wrong, cleaned it up good and field was reseeded no problems with trash next spring.

About 4" heavy wet snow here, but boy is it getting wet out, can hardly walk across the corral, more like spring storm. Went to Airdrie today, more snow there and Calgary is really getting wacked. Still coming down hard but supposed to stop overnight.

2nd heavy snowfall warning of the harvest season. FML.

Best I've been able to take is 19% wheat in the last 2.5 weeks.

Forecast is plugging flurries into this weekend again... book it...
