On the export side, time will tell. They have always been the keepers of the last kernels. Domestically they are a powerhouse that just makes shit happen. I wouldn't be surprised if plan B is, you like to grow corn? Let's go to E-15 or 20 and shift those bean acres back to corn. When these guys decide to move mountains, anything is possible. Hell, at least the general population stands behind them. Their innovation is never to be underestimated. US ag is listened to, mostly on political structure but they have their lobbyists as well, sugar is king on lobby. They still have the biodiesel card.

World trade for decades has been about selling more into the US market and not importing anything so in that type of environment the US might as well have a tariff. China is collapsing so your second comment is being lived right now. Americans have stopped caring about what those who hate them think and rightly so,

DX appears to have hit resistance, a setback here would soften the blow on exports. Just because a tarrif is in place doesn't mean exports are dead. Any currency setback and i expect US origin will start looking appealing.

US Ag these days seems to be on an unstoppable roll these days. Production of everything is going up. Not just corn, beans, and wheat but stuff like green peas, green lentils and chickpeas too not to mention dairy. Pretty much everything finds a market eventually. Americans just like to win and so far so good.
