Im as far from a Liberal as you can get. Why not own rocket launchers or flame throwers, they are cool too. I will guarantee there will be a debate about a ban on hand guns because they need a divisive issue to bring up due to throwing farmers under the bus with Nafta. Classic government tactics to deflect attention from important things. We are all worried about our gun toys but who cares about loosing Canadian Dairy farms or the US subsidies driving down our canola prices.

The original story was that the handgun used in Danforth was smuggled in. Do you also buy the mental illness narrative even though he trained with Al Qaeda?

Breadwinner, almost every day I read about numerous stabbings and knife threatening, rarely about handguns. Boucher was armed and unlawfully threatening a man and wife.
“ Mentally ill” people like to go to crowds where no protection is present and shoot people. Maybe if someone was carrying they could have stopped him cold.
Statistics on lawful gun owners show crimes by them are almost negligible. Good sense is rare, I don’t use the phrase common sense, because it’s not common.

Every crowd can't be protected from a Nutjob in a speeding truck. Trucks are way more accessible and easier to operate than firearms.

I doubt it Samhill, i cant think of any of these situations in the States where the carrying bystander shoots the bad guy.

We will see if gun carrying teachers in US KILL any nut jobs this school term. Even extremely low odds with 350 million people, there are still too many deranged sickos. This will never be solved.

Gun Ban...treating the symptom or the cause.

This is much deeper than a gun ban. Still, there are some kinds of guns I don't feel the public needs access to.

There has been a huge amount of "conditioning" through violent video games and television the last two or three decades.

As I said before....you reap what you sow. A self fulfilling result of the "conditioning" and media sensationalizing the violence.
