Farmer grain deliveries are 500,000 tonnes behind last year.
14,154,000 current vs. 14,614,000 last year

Maybe farmers are rationing, or can’t deliver (rail and terminals)

So are we behind in export sales or crusher deliveries? I suspect it would be export sales due to shortage of rail cars.

Last year there were some great prices in June/July for canola.

I suspect that will happen again this year.

We just sold our regular commodity canola for $12 June/July delivery.

Last year we sold for $12 on May 10 for June/July delivery.

Earlier this year, do I think it has a bit more upside? Yup I do...

            Results:

$6.75 for 2016 durum sold last fall(that no one wanted in the fall of 2016 and winter of 2017)
            $7.01 for #1 13.5 Px CWRS June/July delivery
            $8.50-$9 for Green Peas...gone
            $12.00 Canola for June/July delivery
$12.85 Flax P/U some gone, most here

I'm pretty much done marketing last year's grain now.

Hope we can grow a half decent one to market this fall and next year.

Threat of soybean tariff and an expanding trade war between U.S. and China appears to be underlying support for canola on the front end. Even Apple iPhone sales appear impacted.

Should this trade war intensify, Canada may be a benefactor. These are crazy times, but 1Can cash bids spurted above $12/bu in some locations late week.

case, you may be right that prices may go higher yet next week. Vancouver basis appears strengthening. But markets are also just a Presidential tweet from a change as well.

caseih, I like your HEAR canola prices👍 better than my poor yielding 2017 commodity canola prices👎. I bet you grossed double $/per acre compared to mine.
