Every cold and snowy day they make jokes about how global warming is working and ridicule everyone who supports it. What a great way to make your case against the people with the power to impose taxes and costs on us. And most farmers base their fake news global warming claims on nothing more than NIMBY, conspiracies, and unproven theories.

Of course it is ridiculous to use every cold weather event to disprove AGW, almost as preposterous as those using EVERY weather event, warm, cold, wet, dry or otherwise as proof of AGW. Both sides should be held to the same standard, there is a saying about those who live in glass houses.

I don't want carbon taxes anymore than you but I know the "piss on you" attitude is not going to win over any global warming supporters and until farmers start supporting their position with real science instead of opinion, Canadian farmers are going to lose big time.

So why do you choose to support the side which is aligned against farmers? Wouldn't you're time and intelligence be better spent refuting the anti business solutions being foisted upon us, and educating non farmers about the necessity of CO2, heat units, growing season. I'm failing to see how spending your time and energy on a forum with a bunch of stubborn farmers trying to educate us is helping farmers cause. So while we are busy bickering amongst ourselves about weather, the powers that be are imposing regulations and taxes on us which destroy our ability to compete.

As with any religion, trying to change someones deeply held beliefs is as effective as beating ones head against the wall.

The only problem with your hypothesis is that 2 days ago two new studies were released showing the ocean currents are slowing and one claims the AMOC is now the the weakest in 1600 years. If less warm tropical water is moving north, not sure how that would account for warmer arctic ocean. Second a major cause of slowing ocean currents is addition of fresh water from Greenland glacier and sea ice melt which is a result of global warming. Lots of reporting on these new studies from journal Nature itself, Scientific American, Washington Post, take your pick when you get time.

Never did respond to this. Please research the specific heat of water. Regardless of AMOC, and any other rearranging of deck chairs, the temperature of the oceans can not turn on a dime.

After calculating the heat required to heat or cool the all of the water in the worlds oceans by 1 degree C( or even a thin slice at the surface), then see how much it takes to heat( or cool) the atmosphere by the same 1 degree. Now compare those two numbers, which are many orders or magnitude apart, and you might understand why the ocean temperature didn't suddenly drop due to decreased energy from the sun. And therefore the arctic ocean could be anomolously warm while the continents cold.

As a bonus, you might discover how completely ludicrous (mathematically speaking) it is for the atmosphere to be able to heat the oceans on any reasonable time scale.

Every time in history something gets dramatically pushed onto society by elites, it’s generally not good for “us” peasants.
When I hear that same kind of propaganda today .... something tells me to give caution to what’s really going on .

We in Western Canada have so much to be thankful for , but looking foreword, it’s a potential disaster way of life .
