    F**** Not Another One

    Another pipeline bites the dust.

CALGARY, A.B. – Kinder Morgan Canada Limited has announced that it is suspending all non-essential activities and related spending on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project.

KML also announced that under current circumstances, specifically including the continued actions in opposition to the Project by the Province of British Columbia, it will not commit additional shareholder resources to the Project.
    ...

However, KML will consult with various stakeholders in an effort to reach agreements by May 31st that may allow the Project to proceed. The focus in those consultations will be on two principles: clarity on the path forward, particularly with respect to the ability to construct through BC; and, adequate protection of KML shareholders.

“As KML has repeatedly stated, we will be judicious in our use of shareholder funds. In keeping with that commitment, we have determined that in the current environment, we will not put KML shareholders at risk on the remaining project spend,” said KML Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Steve Kean. The Project has the support of the Federal Government and the Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan but faces continued active opposition from the government of British Columbia.

“A company cannot resolve differences between governments. While we have succeeded in all legal challenges to date, a company cannot litigate its way to an in-service pipeline amidst jurisdictional differences between governments,” added Kean.

They are firmly placing the ball in the provinces and Federal Gov'ts court. Now watch JT get out of Canada as fast as he can.

We have Enbridges "Line Three Replacement" set to strip the right of way this August. Amazing the flaming hoops these things need to jump through! Everyone stands in their way. Seems the only thing that changes group's minds is money....and lots of it.

The hostage is killed and no-one gets ransom if the demands are too high.

Yup. Probably our municipal road allowance, and a buried Saskpower line utility.

What's the contractor's name? I'll look for you.

          Edit, won't you be harvesting?

Notley putting on a show of scrambling. Trudeau doesnt give a damn even if he knew what he was doing. Not sure if Harper had a chance to avoid.
P.E.T. likely didnt do enough with constitution and those since pass the buck.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. No room in politics for someone with balls anymore.
Like RRs maybe all pipelines should run south.

Again someone explain to me how the Liberals and NDP policies are working.

You have someone with a gun to your head and the last thing you remember is a bang and its over.

Canada is at the point where the idiots are running the show and the money is leaving, Leaving faster than any of you can imagine.

Keep up the great work you liberals and NDP eventually the people will turn on you and you will be done.

You cant let the idiots with dreams of a whole new world without energy run the show.

                Canada is doomed.

I suspect today's announcement is more of a way of turning up the political heat on the discussion than it is a true economic decision. I believe it will get approval before the May deadline. Trudeau and Notley really dont have a choice but to push it through or they are done. Even the polls show strong support in BC for the project, same story as usual a small number of protesters with a large microphone male all the noise. I am surprised that these companies do start projects and commit dollars before they have full permits in place.

No one can honestly be shocked by this. Dumbo is not going to touch the pipeline. As soon as he comes out and forces BC to take it, he will lose all credibility with the environmental crowd that put him in office. He's stupid, but not completely retarded.

You get some in BC that say those against pipelines don't speak for them. No - but your BC NDP/Green government does. And it has told you many times, it doesn't support oil. Your voice doesn't count because you didn't vote for them.

Oil workers, pipeliners, farmers, gun owners did not vote for Dumbo. He will not be sacrificing his base for them. Actions speak louder than words, and Dumbo will not act. Unless of course AB and SK get off their ass and get serious about separation. Have Notley and Moe make an joint announcement about future negotiations involving separation. That MIGHT make Dumbo blink.

Broke. Haha. Funny stuff. Elect some Ontario Liberals in AB and SK, they will show you what broke means. Annual interest is more than your entire debt.

It wasn't about him. If he showed up out of respect, good for him and he should get credit. But it shouldn't have been a grandstanding photo-op.
