We took a visiting American couple (she originated from our area) to breakfast yesterday morning. Didn't spend much time on politics - lots of other catching up to do, family, hobbies, business...
But we did mention our respective leaders. Their view was that Trump has been the most effective president they have had in a long time and is improving things for the average American citizen.
But the media thrives on highlighting Trump's faults, they said. And if the media had held Obama and the Clintons to the same standard, they (Obama/Hilary) would be in jail.
When asked what they knew of or saw in our "leader", they looked at each other, just laughed and changed the subject.

Have to admit, there has probably never been a bigger smear campaign in Canadian politics than there's been against Trudeau, true American style politics, but in the same breath no one has provided more ammunition or has done a better job of damaging his own reputation other than himself!!!!!!

Well, farma, I think if you reach waaaaaay back in your memory, you might remember a PM by the name of Stephan Harper. Ya, waaaay back.
In case anyone is having memory problems, let this be a refresher -
1) THE HIDDEN AGENDA only mentioned daily by the liberal propaganda machines Toronto Star, CBC, etc., in the run up to any election.
And for those old enough to remember, none of those issues ever came to the surface unless agit-proped by the liberals of the day. NEVER ONCE.
So yeah, maybe there was another well-orchestrated smear campaign in our past.
The difference is that this time it is not a smear campaign - it is a sad portrayal of reality which even the Liberal Party is starting to acknowledge.
