Because they get the majority of the farm vote whether they do anything for you or not.
Don't know if you caught it but CBC had a 10 minute interview with KAP President at lunchtime today on the rail transport problems. He was in Ottawa lobbying Ministers and gave a good account of himself on the radio. It was the first story ahead of the Trump/steel tariff one. CBC doing their part trying to raise awareness of the problems facing prairie farmers.

Hey it’s March 2014 all over again. CN Rail is hauling 2 mile long trains of crude oil in DOT 100 Tanker Cars....Trumps got the USA humming so they need it again.

Grain guys you can just pound sand, the railways will get to you when they are ready, and it’s 100 percent certain all the grain will be there sitting waiting for them. You farmers are so nice and accommodating to Fake Rail.

Go to Edmonton and along 16 watch the marvel of the railway efficiently moving oil as grain cars air parked.

I’m the furthest thing from a socialist, but the railway screams for government control of a that monopoly....but then again with present government....gawd it could be even worse!!

Sounds like a strategic bargaining point in the NAFTA negotiations and also a major hit to China/India.

I read that China was bringing aluminum into USA via Mexico tariff free.

Now the USA will have a condition to remove steel & aluminum tariffs for Canada if we open border up to dairy or some other trade irritant.

Oh wait a minute.....Farmers do so vote Liberal!! They did in Nipawin in 2015. Bad Harper needed to go and JT in!!

I’m not going to name any names...but thanks to outstanding liberal voting farm family in Nipawin, they fought the good fight last fall and this winter got an award from the community Chamber Commerce for fighting the Monreau punitive tax measures last fall when we were all busy harvesting.

Wow, the poor mother admited on social media she felt responsible for this bad tax because she voted Liberal and it was going to really hurt junior taking over the farm.

But thanks to the efforts of dad and mom at such a busy time and thanks to radio and all social media, they went straight for the finance minister and got it stopped.

Nothing like giving yourself an award for fixing the thing you broke!!! wow can’t make this stuff up!!!

Couldnt really tell u who or what was said. Why? Cause after hearing the same problems from same people almost my entire career I dont think anybody cares or has ever cared.
I dont know why and too pissed to care myself. No political party can fix it i guess. Same story forever. Maybe until grain freight outpays all other freight?
Remember they get fined for making too much on grain. Govt owns tractive fleet? De unionize employees and cross train and retain?

I know i am ignorant, but live on a CP line that still works. Drive along a CN line every weekend that is twinned for miles in order to take traffic. Mostly seacans, intermodals etc... 55 mph, just givener both ways.

Because they are a shell of what they once were. Too many elites that no longer care about grassroots. Party needs a damn good cleaning just like is happening in Ontario. They are doing a good job pissing off their base and they just won't vote for them in 2019, like me. Have fun with 4 more years of Trudeau boys. Gut the party and then I may be back. Membership expires end of the month and won't be renewed. If the party needs to contact me, I'll be over with FordNation trying to make Ontario great again.
