Unfortunately Bucket we know that is not going to happen. I really am at a loss on why we as primary producers have been forgotten by our political leaders and I do believe that it crosses political lines. I don't see any polices from either party. The CBC article also stated that Modi will help support Indian farmers because he understands their importance and also their support.

yup I agree but good luck with vision.

What government should do is facilitate drainage with neighbours so shit gets done with less animosity amongst neighbours.

Crest liner the problem with what you suggest-putting tariffs on Indian products we import-g****s, tea, pickles, clothing, rubber, etc -$8.1 billion in 2016 is that it represents less than 1% of India’s total exports. So they would hardly notice. And would certainly not reverse a policy to support their 1/2 billion Indian farmers. You may not believe that or agree but that is the facts. It is more likely to further irritate the relationship.
Hopefully our PM stays home. The trip was a disaster and doesn’t matter what spin gets put on it. He’s done more damage that good by a long margin.
Trying to get a permanent resolution to the fumigation issue has been a sound strategy. We have solid science as to why it is not necessary. It is an unpredictable non tariff barrier. There is still trade going on w India even right now. Getting permanent clarity on the fumigation issues would at least remove that barrier for now and the future.

Canada vs India trade is fairly equal.
Roughly $2 billion going each way per year.

I agree with Crestliner, apply matching tariffs until they remove their tariffs.

The Indians are already pissed off with Trudeau's terrorist and Mr Dressup act anyways.

I have been in the same area SF3 and it is amazing how much foresight and planning went into water management and usage. Did you see all the pumping stations and canals south of that big lake. You do realize we now have the man who ****ed up the whole water drainage issue running the province. I am afraid nothing good can come from him.

Just like the worker who does his job excellent for 25 plus years and gives everything for that job and sacrifices his family is replaced two weeks after he retires or dies.

No one cares about the primary producer because some other sucker will pick up the pieces.
                Before he retires ?

I'm more confused by the part about replacing him 2 weeks after he dies? How long after an employee dies is it acceptable to expect them to quit going to work?

You want a "Canada first" approach and then want India to not r "India first".

Every country looks after their own. Quit whining.

Maybe should have hold spga and pulse Canada to account 10 years ago...
