This shouldn't be news to any politician if they were paying attention...

Except canadian politicians are stupid and can't correlate numbers to canada's diminishing presence other than to make ignorant excuses.

Tom Lukiwski's office said they couldn't get involved in an elevator closure of a private company that helps export my grain to the coast... within days the conservatives are asking for an emergency debate about the private companies that export oil.

    Quite a double standard.

Haven't heard from his office on that double standard.

      Ummm actually they can.

      Canada grain act:

55 (1) All elevators in Canada heretofore or hereafter constructed, except elevators referred to in subsection (2) or (3), are and each of them is hereby declared to be a work or works for the general advantage of Canada.

(1.1) Every flour mill, feed mill, feed warehouse and seed cleaning mill is a work for the general advantage of Canada.

          My thoughts. 2016 info Wikipedia

          AB pop. 4,067,175
          Metro Edm & Cal 2,714,035

          Remaining 1,353,140

          Sask pop. 1,098,352
          Metro Reg & Sask 531,571

          Remaining 566,781

          MB pop 1,278,365
          Metro Win 778,489
          Remain 500,276

          Greater Van. 2,463,431
          GTA 6,417,516

Alberta now consolidating rural ridings and adding 3 new urban ridings
          to keep total at 87.
Representation by population only, area no bearing.

AB Teachers Union paid Suzuki $50,000 to tell crowd oil will total shutdown by 2050,
therefore no need for its infrastructure.

And rural waits for high speed internet????
          Dream On!
In the 70s we paved a road to every community in AB.
What's gonna pay for it now?
And who's left to want/need it??

Alberta's rual/urban distribution becoming similar to MB where most of the population lives in the large urban center(s). This is why MB has NDP governments so often. Winnipeg is full of civil servants, old and retired people, and many that choose not to contribute to the economy.
