    Wow awesome rain!!!

Well I might be getting a bit ahead of myself but as they say 90 days after fog comes rain I am happy to see two days of heavy fog in the Regina area. We are scary dry and a couple inches toward end of April would be welcome.

My mother believes the same theory. And she adds if it isn't precipitation it will be wind....geez mom, those are pretty good odds of that forecast materializing!

Actually I want someone to expain to me how fog can lead to precipitation 90-100 days later.

Kinda like the saying "red sky morning...sailors warning, red sky night...sailors delight. Must have something to do with wind.

But as dry as we are I'm willing to hang any hope on any old wive's tale at this time.

What do I have to lose? I've already lost all my credibility and dignity.

Any other folklore forecasts out there?

        Hey Farmaholic
It is simple mathematical probability. Fog/hoarfrost usually lasts 3-4 days, so go out 90 days add a day on each side of the time frame just because if a rain is close it will be counted as a hoarfrost rain.
So in any given 5-6 day time frame in summer there is a high probability of rain.
My mom would count the rain if it was anywhere close to the time, because some people say 90 days others say 100 days.

I also subscribe to the fog theory. It seems to be close add a day on either side of 90 and its a rain day. We have had lots of fog north of the valley East of City. So like i posted earlier i think the cycle is changing to normal rainfall. Were still 95 to 100 days away from seeding but it sure would be a good starting point if it did come true.

So its mathematical odds not a proven scienctific theory.

Pretty soon the ground hog will tell us how many weeks of winter are left.

Another good one was the higher muskrats built there huts the more snow winter would get. Tell you what....there are no muskrat huts here and there is little snow too!

Really we have Muskrat huts and their fairly big.

Im still not saying its changed totally back but something is different. One wet snow for NE and East sask and spring is a 10.

.....and if not, I'll have to drink it up to a "10"!

Two days heavy fog in Edmonton region as well. If theory correct there will be a flood of surplus canola this fall. Just lucky that the old crop is not as big as Stats can says it was. Won't matter now since any short fall can be borrowed from 2018 crop. Going to be a monster. Remember $6 canola from 2005/06?

Yeah the industry wanted this or Canola Growers associations did. Here we go 25 mil acres before 2020. $6.50 Canola wow what we need 100 to break even. I guess the One guy at Birchills will make out ok.
