    Electricity

As you know weve got heat at the moment 3 states.

Yesterday peak demand was around 5pm.

Every thing was maxed out coal wind battery generators and you guessed it a coal plant tripped sent everything into dissaray for a while but normal power was restored quickly.

    I was unaffected.

Seems if we had just one more closed coal station operating rather than shut down everything would have been fine or a bit of wind.

All the systems worked hand in hand just takes one to fail.

Theres no excess in australia on hot days

Not a debate about renewable or coal just how finely balanced the whole system is not sure you have quite the electricity demands in canada.

Most of your issues are when lines go down? Rather than lack of supply.

I think supply could be a problem in future. Politics mostly.

A few days ago in AB, battle river #5(400mW) coal tripped off while sundance plant had 2x400mW planned outages. Had AB not been tied into bc and Montana and pulling over 1gW in, we'd have had rolling blackouts at -28°c.

Graph below shows the massive price spike when BR#5 went down.
