Screening are done with a automatic shaker and screenings fall to bottom of screen and are measure mechanically. All done mechanically and computers.
Different screen for wheat than barley.
              Snails are a visual,
ps to cold for snail in canada would over winter

Does gluten % affect price? Is it tested at time of delivery on every load?

Do you get much blending deals happen down in Australia? Would they paper blend all your loads with these for no or a reduced discount?

US system is very load by load with limited blending if any. Canadian system is a lot more focused on what the total end product is and very open to blended deals.

Blending usually done by marketers. We have 7 segregations at our local elevator.

Farmaholic protien 12.7 is actually around average.
Milling wheat buyers prefer 11.5 to 13% H2 or our standard milling wheat APW which is 10.5 to 11.5%.

The above is australian general purpose agp and use in feed and milling situations and this could be blended with say h1 wheat 13% and above. There is no protien limits on downside on agp got downgraded in this instance becaus eof sanils

Are these snails on the head or stem? Curious how they get into your harvested sample. Can you post a picture of them. Thanks melee

                          Will attempt photo......

Re gluten test it doesnt actually affect the price but more of a guide for buyers who buy out of the elevator it will showed stacked average of gluten in a 3000 tonne bunker for example. Its a measure of how the wheat will perform in dough making stage.

Theory it may give australian wheat a slight edge in market as we are the only ones who test every load. Only started in 2017 gotta keep ahead of canadians somehow in the market
