IEA says oil consumption will increase through 2040

I am surprised nobody has brought this up. In 2 recent articles one in the financial post by Yadullah Hussaih titled "Canada to be stuck on the sidelines in extraordinary times for global energy" and the second in the Calgary Herald by Chris Varcoe "how the world sees Canada's oil future-uncertainty." Both articles sight a latest study released by the International Energy Agency which projects oil consumption to increase fron 94 million barrels a day today to 105 million barrels a day by 2040. It also projects an even higher increase in natural gas consumption. It takes into account there will be very strong growth in renewables and certainly a large increase in Ev's but petrochemical and heavy industry use will still increase consumption. Both articles discuss Canada's inability to get energy transportation infrastructure approved and built. Environmentalists might shut down Canada's growth but the rest of the world is moving on!

Quebec will be wondering where the trans payments went to subsidize their daycare and education

Meanwhile, the Saudi's and Americans are laughing at us all the way to the bank, and will be for decades to come. While the useful idiots here who helped delay projects, which led to them eventually being cancelled have no clue who's purposes they were actually serving who was paying their bills, or how much damage they have done.

Trudeau and the Liberal Party know what they're doing,,and they're doing it on purpose.

We keep thinking, "we'll show them, once the transfer payments end!!!"

They are thinking, "when the transfer payments from the west end, we'll(Central Canada) have the economic power back in this country again, like it always has been"

Don't underestimate the disdain, that the elite in certain areas of Central Canada have, for the wealth and riches the West has enjoyed over the last 10-15 years. They want the economic power back, and if that means reducing the West's influence rather than increasing their own,,,,, it just doesn't matter. What ever it takes to be boss again in Canada.

          You nailed it Danny.
This is about a power shift from the economic powerhouse being in the resource rich west back to the east where the Liberal Laurentian elites prefer it. (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City)

There is no mystery why the NEB approved Northern Gateway pipeline was cancelled by Justin as well as a moratorium against oil tankers on the northern BC coast.
An extra layer of required approvals as well as extra delays killed the chance for the nation to capture $ billions through a Petronas LNG export project and also the Energy East pipeline.

Meanwhile oil tankers from Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Venezuela come into nonstop through the St. Lawrence to supply eastern Canadians with oil.

If only we had a majority conservative government. Wait didn't we just have that?

Get in and get rid of all these stupid rules and get at it.

Several pipelines were completed with the majority Conservatives including the original Keystone pipeline and the point is they didn't STOP any or add extra delays or testing.

The NEB approves pipelines but sock boy added an extra layer of upstream/downstream emissions testing that will stop pipelines from being constructed.
