These were our results from the planter trial ...

We will do a seed rate trial again next spring with 1.5 , 2 , and 2.5 and maybe 3 And see if that yield bump continues . We have been told it flattens out at around 2.5 lbs / ac depending on seed size .
Depending on the tractor we use, we will aim for 8 mph or better to get the most efficient use of the planter we can .

Sounds like a solution that would actually help for our western Canadian economy.

The $400,000 will be the basic
Just saying that North American customers expect a lot of creature comforts that the rest of the world is satisfied without. Then we complain about the cost of the equipment. If one figured out the cost of some of these convenience features compared to how many hours they save the operator over the lifetime of the machine, we would likely discover that we could afford to spend a minute and leave the cab to turn that valve ( for example) many times per day compared to the thousands of dollars per hour it cost to have it automated. But the competition has it that way, so we have to do it too, otherwise the coffee shop talk will be how our machine is inferior, so add another few thousand to the cost

Look at how people here run down the imported Russian combines. Mostly based on the aesthetics and operator station, not based on it's functionality. These are the people manufacturers are attempting to please, and it costs a lot of money.

Most of the rest of the world is happy to drive standard transmissions, small cars, etc. Unheard of here.
