Would we be happy if the government limited the amount of farmland that foreigners could own? it's kinda like the housing in Vancouver. If the buyers don't have to actually move there and inhabit it, there are all kinds of problems as in money laundering, escallation of home values, small businesses lose customers and so it goes. In Vancouver and Toronto governments are trying to put a lid on foreign ownership, maybe the provincial government should look at what is going on with farmland and resources?

What would make me happy is a return to sound money and market rates of interest. Debt gets too high and interest rates go up. This eliminates speculative asset bubbles. I am aware that if that now, the entire global economy would collapse in about 10 min. because it is too far gone. The Chinese are very adept in a speculative economy as theirs is the most fake in the world due to gargantuan government at home. Higher rates would eliminate the speculative bubble in assets and make a much more level playing field for those who need these assets.
