Wow it can thunder but piss all your rain

Can't believe it's thunder and lightning haven't seen any at farm all year. Still no rain but yellow radar to the south and it's moving north.

We got shut down only a full grain cart today so far but it's now too tough to go.

What is this thing they call rain?

    Rain makes grain.

We went a long time and went through lots of forecasts for rain without getting any until today when we got a half inch. It was a nice light rain but after 15 years of fighting mud at harvest I was still nervous, it might turn into something ugly!

Turned ugly in a few spots in SW Manitoba this evening. Thunder storms passed through with reports of 3" at Baldur and over 4" near Cartwright. Takes some drying out from that this time of year!

We got a whopping .23 of an inch, as dry as it is....does it count? It's a start. It's the biggest rain since the last .33 of an inch on Aug 4.

Some areas west and north of here that are less than 30% done harvest got very unwanted rain. Goin to be a long harvest now for some ... again .
Hopefully it dries out and harvest can get underway again in those areas. They don't need another fall like last year .
Some on here from areas in north central Alberta have pointed that out .
Meadow Lake area is also late and now wet . It's been an extremely challenging year for those areas right from May 1 st

Yes well count this one Grass because it actually did some thing does something gets us ready for 2018.

A farm this year in our area will need before freeze up about 4 inches of rain to fill the ground back up to adequate moisture.

So the .5 of a inch is a blessing and now we need just 3.5 by Oct 30th.

              Count down begins.

I asked the big guy upstairs to send you 3.5" tomorrow but he says NO! He's tired of your pissing and moaning and says we'd never hear the end of it. "Harvest f#$^&!!!!, worst flood ever!!!!, won't be able to seed anything next year!!! He said Noah was just like you so he finally sent him a doozy.

Well then, Moses must have spent the spring and summer in the Regina area parting the rain clouds......

Did you know he was the first man to have a motorbike?

"And lo, the roar of Moses' triumph was heard throughout Israel"
