Stats Canada Production numbers out tomorrow morning. Yea this is a month old news.

Stats Canada the Official line in Canada that is only a Month out all the time with useless processing. They could phone farmers last week and with computer technology have the info ready the day after. Hit send and its done.

No like always they are two months almost out.

Yes it was taken when rain was only falling in Manitoba and Northern Alberta and Some places in Sask. Farmers were scared and pissed and looking to the sky.

So yes like my observations at the time i think we will be up on yields from the July survey results but some crops just didn't recover with one rain and areas that were later seeded haven't had rain for over a month so now yields their could be down.

Basically add a little to the yield but thats all.

Oh yesterday on a Radio station a guy from the Elevator groups was saying how he believes he was wrong in June with his yield projections and now says it will be higher because " Well Manitoba yields are coming in very nice"

Ah whats wrong with this remark. Well Manitoba has always had good yields and the last few have been awesome. So Is Canola running 100 in Manitoba since swift is 25.

Morons never get out of their office and don't get it.

So what are others guesses for Stats Canada numbers.

    Wheat
Total wheat production is expected to reach 30.5 million tonnes in 2016, up 10.5% compared with last year. This could mark the second time in 25 years that wheat production will exceed 30 million tonnes, the other being the bumper crop of 2013.

    2017 Wheat production 22.4 mil acres x 39 = 23.7 mt

    Canola
Canadian farmers anticipate producing 17.0 million tonnes of canola in 2016, down 1.2% from 2015. While the national average yield is projected to remain at 38.0 bushels per acre, lower expected harvested areas in Alberta and Manitoba are contributing to the decline in national production.

    2017 Canola production. 22.8 mill acres x 32.6 = 16.8
    Soybeans
Nationally, soybean production is expected to be 5.8 million tonnes in 2016, down 6.5% from 2015.

Reported average yields were down for all major soybean producing provinces.

2017 Soybean Production 5.2 mt but if it freezes next week all bets are off on soy. Also soy has shut down in Sask in lots of places after last weeks two cool nights.

    Barley
Barley production is expected to rise 5.8% to 8.7 million tonnes in 2016. This growth is attributable to a 6.5% increase in average expected yield to 69.2 bushels per acre. Meanwhile, little change is expected in harvested area, reported at 5.8 million acres (-0.7%) in 2016.

    2017 Barley Production 5.8 acres x 48 = 6.1 mt

    Oats
Canadian farmers expect oat production to fall 11.9% to 3.0 million tonnes. This decrease reflects a 12.1% decline in expected harvested area to 2.3 million acres, as average yield is anticipated to remain basically unchanged from last year at 85.5 bushels per acre (+0.2%).

2017 Oats Production. 3.2 acres will give 4.1 mt

Just saying oats will be lighter this year but acres are their.
Wheat yields are down a bit but its one crop that took the heat better than first thought.
Peas and lentils are down from last year but some other area yields are way up. Both flat.
Canola didn't like the heat yield will be lower and smaller seeds. Even if you sold the swather.

I think you may be low on your cereal guesstimate. Bang on for canola, there is no way there is even close to an average crop out there.

Statistics Canada had ruled 2017 another big canola crop

        18.2MMT production for canola.

Going with the stated acreage numbers for canola I wouldn't doubt it will be close to that.
