    They're Back . . .

We were just checking some canola for maturity and noticed a couple of fields are black with flea beetles. They all appeared to be the crucifer rather than the striped. Isn't it a little early?

Main stem pods have colour on all seeds on pods halfway on stem. Top seeds are almost all firm to roll. We think once all those seeds will roll we'll cut to avoid anymore drying out by those suckers.

Anyone have experience with pod shatter reduction canola and flea beetles? I was wondering if when the pods dry out from beetle activity if they'd hold onto the pod integrity.

We need canola with natural resistance to flea beetles, diamond backs and Berthas....can you imagine how much a pound the seed would cost.

BT corn, sawfly resistance, midge resistance. .........
