        And some spray indiscriminately...

But that being said. Midge have had the cross-hairs on them for quite a while already and they aren't eradicated. Seems the insect pests can't be wiped out but some animal species with much smaller populations can't stand up to the human assault.

Lots more pest spraying this year than there has been for past few. Hopefully the grasshoppers are not coming back...that's one that I dislike the most

Always factor the populations of the good bugs before spraying the bad bugs. Those ladybugs keeping busy this year eating the aphids off the soybeans this year.

Soybeans around here don't look like they will give their seed back. They reeally dislike drought. They could be called SoSo Beans.

A conservative amount of total moisture for beans is 20" a year. It won't be heat or daylight but moisture that limits their expansion.

Why is everybody looking at corn? it even needs less moisture

I agree, expansion of corn and beans in parts of sw Mb and s. SK will be difficult. Both crops need regular rainfall into July and august for full yield potential. Thankfully excessive soil reserves from last fall and April keeping beans and corn going here.

It's a ladybug's maggot. They will not make any harm. Look [URL=http://domainedesforets.com/]here if you are interested to know how those insects fight aphid.
