Frost in 2002 wasn't as bad as the 2004. Even if it was early it only really got the flat land. We shipped all wheat to Manitoba to blend with bad Fuz. Got a 2. But 2004 got every acre and no blending in Manitoba.

Agreed. And it only took some 3 months into the growing season to realize it.

Rainfall at my yard (May 12mm, June 40mm, July 0mm, Total 52mm)
Thankful for the 26mm at the end of June. It came too late.
After the weekend, you didn't need to look hard to see the crops were suffering.
Like dad said "There is only an inch of rain difference between a good farmer and a poor farmer."
It will be interesting to see how much difference that 26 mm makes.
A half mile down the road, we only had 8mm.
It doesn't look like there is any relief in site.

Lots a drama here! Here is what I see. I picked a couple things up from Ritchie site at regina yesterday, drove from calgary down hwy 1 there and then back through Kenaston and over to Hanna on way back to Didsbury.

Most areas are the same drowned out patches from spring and dry thin stands since. Most have uneven height, maturity and thickness. I didn't see anything that should be abandoned but most areas will have significant yield impact. Best area was around Craigmyle to Linden, really nice there above average. Kindersley and Rosetown areas look good also. Worst area is in between the good ones. Sibbald Oyen Youngstown looks real bad.

Avg canola yields will be way down no question. Guessing wheat acres are lower than reported, yield down but not sure how much. Barley burnt on top and uneven think most will not make malt. Lots of lentils and peas, look good but I don't really know. Lots of soy beans some look good but lots don't, the fields we looked at haven't flowered yet so wonder about maturity but again don't know what I'm talking about.

Bottom line is with a few exceptions it's a pretty big area that's in the same boat of being dry and below average.

I'm SW of oyen. We picked up a very fortunate 8/10ths the very end of June that further north around Cereal did not get. They are going on 40 days since any significant moisture in that band from Youngstown to Alsask aside from the occasional lottery shower. July has not been kind. 16 day FGS model has only 3 or 4 days below 85. At this point i'll concede defeat on my soybeans and try again next year, but the rest of my stuff has decided what it's going to be and all we can ask for now is decent harvest weather.
