    Trade Uncertainty

See Bank of Canada Poloz lists concern over Trump position on NAFTA as reason for investors to avoid putting money into Canada. Fears have abated somewhat in that Trump does not seem to be able to get anything else done so may be same with his promise to end NAFTA.
More and more, the Trump presidency is looking like a disaster for the Republican Party. Leaders and members who supported him now have a tiger by the tail and can't let go. World and US public opinion has been turning against him.
Worst fear is some kind of event or attack on US that would cause people to rally around him and support his agenda. Barring that, trade outlook for Canada is looking better.

I am stupid but if our outlook looks better why slow it with higher rates?

The oil sector is down but why not make up for it in other sectors.....higher rates can stifle that. ......IMHO

Seeing concerns about higher food costs (same time as people say they want more organic).
Higher $CD should help with that.
Also not so good for those of us who travel outside country, maybe keep us at home.

If anyone ever says to you, or you over hear someone comment about the price of food going up,,, tell them straight up,,, it's because of the Carbon Tax. Whether it's shipped by truck or train, or the heating and lights from the grocery store, all that Carbon Tax will be added to the retail price of food.

Then tell them that the farmers costs for producing the food they're buying hasn't even been worked into the equation yet, and that they should expect the price of groceries to go up considerably more over the next short while.

I agree danny its all related to that useless tax that JT and Liberals are putting on all provinces.

He is a idiot and its all about city vs rural. He hates rural with a passion because most of us see through the idiots bullshit.

I think it's really important to tell the people, urban people especially, that all this Carbon Tax will be added to the cost of their groceries and many, many other items they regularly use and need. These Carbon Tax increases aren't just on luxury items that the wealthy will buy. The middle class is going to get nailed !
