They can take the 10 mil out if the Truseau Foundation. Really makes us want to pay our taxes. How fast can he give away our country?

Ok, as most of you know I'm not much of a Trudeau fan. But this has been going on a long time. Has it finally been settled under Trudeau's tenure because of "timing"...or did JT unilaterally decide on the 10.5 mill.

A "Canadian "CITIZEN"" killed a U.S. medic with a grenade? WTF....this guy(Khadr) in the wrong place at the wrong time? Friendly fire? I'm trying to give benefit of doubt(or maybe Devil's Advocate).

Odd there are such things like Rules of War/Engagement and Geneva Conventions. Someone tries to kill you and you capture them then have to treat them humanely....they had the right to kill you if they could but need humane treatment and protection if you capture them alive?

This guy(Omar Khadr) is literally a Canadian Citizen born in Canada to Immigrants.

His father was supposedly not an "outstanding citizen" in other countries they lived in.

So is he the type of Immigrant that is more deserving of Canada than Canadians? I lay blame on Omar Khadr's father..... Who would put their kids in harm's way when they could have lived in the safety of Canada? What a ****ed up situation.

        Disturbing.

Our supreme court needs to be accountable to the citizens of Canada. All the citizens not just the chosen few. Why aren't they elected? The Senate as well. The gravy train is getting to be a touch much.

And what were the legal costs for both sides? And who paid them?
A man can consider himself a success if he can go through life without ever having talked to a lawyer!

i do not like the payout either,
but who was in power , when the screwups happened.

and if the rule of law was followed in the first place ,
there would be no payment. correct.

maybe govt.s in future will think twice and follow the laws that are supposed to make us better than the terrorists.
maybe in future , if we (conservative and liberal govts ) will resist the urge to aid and abet torture.
of a 15 year old , no matter how bad he is.

absurd settlements like this will not happen

i know most of you would like to pin this all on trudeau.

first it is a court matter , apparently , i would guess , because laws were broken , maybe ?

as much as you would like to believe the settlement in this court court case
                  was because of trudeau .

he was still teaching school or something back when it happened .

and do you really think the PM has anyway to skip around the law and not do the settlement.

if you do then , why would your man , Harper pay Arrar 10 million.
is he a (damn terrorist lover or what )

you guys love to pick on trudeau.
but if you really look at the facts ,
he just got on the elevator, the stink was already there.

Chuck your full of shit. Canada didn't take away his constitutional rights.

He went out of our county Killed a medic and tried to kill a bunch more.

The Americans were killed they took him as prisoner.

He was tried and should of hanged.

So what did canada do to offend this little angel.

                    FM are Canadians Stupid.

Regardless of anybody's political views on Kahdr or the current liberal government, the law applies equally to all Canadians. Now I am sure many posters on Agriville want the law politicized to suit their particular political views but that is a slippery path which no one should support. But the rule of law applies to everyone including those you or I may not support.

Guantanamo was the US governments way of getting around their own constitution. His conviction would have never happened under Canadian law.

Previous governments ****ed this file up and now taxpayers get to pay.
I agree with you Chuck2, it was the Chrétien government that is at fault here. I would say the government prefers settlement to battling Omar's 20 million dollar lawsuit in court and what that might bring into the public eye.

If the "judicial process" gives millions of tax-payer dollars to a self-confessed murderer, then it's quite obvious that the "judicial process" is so screwed up that the system that created is is completely devoid of any intelligence.

What is safe or sacred anymore?

The minute he fought against Canada he threw his rights out the window. Pretty sure his father is a Canada/USA hating asshole too from what I have been able to gather.

Judges making laws... elected governments powerless, thank Trudo 1.
Quick pass law to prevent this crap...doubt it.

For those of you who claim that this wasn't Trudeau's thing, look again. It appears that this was a decision to settle made by the Trudeau government.

So apparently Omar Khadr, coming from a self-proclaimed, proud al Quaida terrorist family, is the new immigrant who deserves to live in this country more than we do since we take it for granted.

And grassfarmer, chuck chuck and their leftist extremist friends support this Trudeau government decision?

This can't even entirely be pinned on a failed legal system. It's the product of a failed ideology based on white self-hatred. And the "prime minister", modeling the worst of the worst in this illness, is selling us out to Islamic terrorists.

                                More details below:
